Jane O’Leary

Strategies for STEM and ELA integration

Jane O’Leary is a special educator who is certified in Secondary Special Education and Secondary English Education. She is also a former RN with experience in psychiatric, school and hospice nursing. Her teaching experience includes urban schools in Bridgeport and Stamford, Connecticut and Providence, Rhode Island as well as a rural school in Vermont.  She has also worked with special needs adolescents in various settings through the Perspectives Corp. in Rhode Island.

Of special interest to Ms. O’Leary is closing the achievement gap between students of privilege and the underserved students in poor school districts. She advocates a multi-dimensional approach that serves the developmental, cognitive, physical, and social needs of a community through innovative teaching practices and integrated social services.
