Community Outreach Coordinator. This position assists in many of the tasks necessary to maintain strong relations with our growing community of public schools, after school programs, home schoolers, parents, and community partners. The successful candidate will have strong writing, communications, interpersonal, social media, and organizational skills.

This position works directly with the Content Strategist and reports to the COO.

The Alexandria Academy Institute develops innovative K-8 STEM curricula to effectively leapfrog African American and other at-risk beyond ineffectual traditional teaching methods and basic level instruction that puts them at a disadvantage in the 21st century global economy.

Excellent communicators, both written and verbal with diverse audiences

Must be highly self-disciplined, excellent with productivity, time management and organization.

Must be familiar with and able to create a strong presence/following on popular social-media platforms

Self-motivated and self-disciplined with a sense of initiative.

Attentive to small details.

Able to work in an intelligent and creative team environment while producing content to meet goals and deadlines.

Able to travel on weekends occasionally on behalf of the company.

You are someone with great social skills to interface with our growing network of public school clients, eLearning customers, community organizations, partners, and parents. You must have a keen interest is equitable education for underserved children and adults. You must be able to speak eloquently when articulating Alexandria Academy Institute’s mission to those whose education level range from just a little bit of High School to Doctorate level professionals.

Tasks include but are not limited to:

Writing a monthly newsletter.

Writing and scheduling relevant and engaging social media content using multiple post types.

Actively engaging with our Alexandria Academy Institute community through multiple social media channels.

Coordinating our conference, webinar, sponsorship endeavors, and community events.

Helping coordinate team events.

We are a distributed nonprofit and this position works well from anywhere in North America. We expect to meet face-to-face via important company gatherings at least once a year.
